OutGrow Therapeutics offers both in person and virtual services for families. All sessions begin with child-centered play and direct observations in order to allow OutGrow’s therapists to gain understanding into how your child’s brain works.

This information aids in developing an individualized therapeutic program to ensure that your child’s emotional and sensory systems are regulated and your child is in an optimal state for learning.

Parent involvement is encouraged, as our goal is to provide you with the tools, education, and strategies to better connect with and understand your child’s learning preferences and differences.

ASSESSMENTS

OutGrow offers a variety of assessments and observations in order to help decide which services will best support your child. This is a great place to start!

  • If your child is over 3 years old and has trouble producing certain sounds, this may be the necessary assessment.

    Do they understand everything you say and you just can’t understand them when they respond? Only your child’s speech skills (articulation) will be assessed using a formal evaluation tool.

  • Language (and if deemed necessary, articulation) skills will be formally assessed.

    Observations indicating you may want to have your child tested may include: difficulty following directions, limited vocabulary knowledge, says “I don’t know” frequently, confuses similar sounding words, has trouble remembering things, etc.

  • OutGrow’s Solely Sensory Assessment (SSA) is completed by a Speech-Language Pathologist, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, both trained in sensory interventions and task analysis.

    The SSA is a formal, play-based, assessment designed to explore a child’s sensory preferences and patterns in order to create an individualized sensory profile.  A variety of materials are used to challenge five out of the eight sensory systems; these include auditory, vestibular, proprioception, visual, and tactile.

    Identifying a child’s Sensory Profile is the foundation to understanding how a child receives, interprets, and responds to their environment. In other words, this helps us identify the ‘why’ behind a child’s behaviors. This information allows for the compilation of proactive and reactive strategies to help maintain an optimal learning state and promote regulation, at home, at school, and in day to day life. This intake assessment is strongly recommended to provide the most effective individualized therapeutic program.

  • Are you receiving phone calls home about your child’s behavior in school? This observation is a great place to start.

    OutGrow Therapeutics will push-in to your child’s classroom to collect information necessary to providing the most individualized and effective recommendations.

    You'll be provided with a Feedback Form outlining the behaviors observed, the hypothesized function of the behavior/s, as well as your child’s observed sensory preferences and aversions.  If necessary, we will also provide you with OutGrow's recommendations and therapeutic goals. 

    Cost: $300

Whether you’re looking for speech therapy, increasing your child’s food repertoire, bringing awareness to sensory differences, or improving your child’s confidence and growth mindset, we’ve got you covered!

INDIVIDUAL & GROUP SESSIONS

  • Therapy targeting Speech and Language skills are at the forefront of this therapeutic session.

    From learning differences, to late talkers and Auditory Processing Disorder, to articulation and phonological impairments, OutGrow Therapeutics’ speech therapy sessions will target your child’s speech and language needs, while considering OutGrow’s holistic approach to learning.

    Cost: $100/30 minutes

  • Ideal for young children who appear hypersensitive, have strong sensory preferences, are reluctant to try new things, and/or emit rigid thinking.

    These sessions aim to provide insight into the underlying reasons for challenging behavior and offer strategies (sensory, visual, auditory) for both children and parents to use in real-life situations and within the classroom setting.

    Through child-led exploration, your child will gain confidence by learning to connect sensations to feelings. Your child will build emotional vocabulary and develop effective coping strategies, flexible thinking, perseverance, and grit, empowering them to successfully navigate daily living tasks, academic challenges, and social and play activities

    Cost: $200/60 minutes

  • Ideal for regulation support

    The Classroom Push-In is ideal for children who experience difficulty following teacher directives, transitioning between school activities, or may be described as aggressive, fidgety, or ‘always on the move.’

    These sessions are provided in the school setting and may take play in or out of the classroom, based on the child’s regulation needs. Intervention focuses on identifying regulating sensory supports, intrinsic motivation, and building functional communication skills. Therapist provides effective strategies to be used within the classroom setting.school, and in day to day life. This intake assessment is strongly recommended to provide the most effective individualized therapeutic program.

    Cost: $200/60 minutes

  • OutGrow’s Individualized holistic program is designed to create a positive food experience for your child, focusing on play-based sensory exploration of food, rooted in the principles of behavior and child-led play.

    By igniting a child's natural curiosity and facilitating hands-on interaction with a variety of foods, we foster a nurturing environment where they can comfortably explore and expand their food repertoire.

    Through this engaging and supportive process, we aim to boost your child's willingness to embrace unfamiliar foods, making mealtimes a stress-free experience for your family.

    Cost: $200/60 minutes

VIRTUAL PARENT RESOURCES

OutGrow values family involvement. Explore these services to gain a better understanding of your child and learn how to best advocate for your child’s needs.

  • Learn how to be the best advocate you can be for your child.

    Whether you need help interpreting your child’s Speech and Language test results or you feel the testing is missing a component of your child’s skills, you are your child’s best advocate! 

    OutGrow Therapeutics will review your child’s school documents (i.e., IEP, 504, ARD meeting preparation, etc.) which provides OutGrow with the information necessary to recommend additional testing (if warranted), classroom supports, and accommodations, so your child receives the most effective individualized classroom interventions.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes! Parent participation is a crucial aspect of OutGrow’s philosophy. Depending on your child’s needs, the importance of your presence in a therapy session may vary. We encourage you to ask questions and be part of the therapeutic process.

  • This is the most common question we get from parents. Every child is different and the length of therapy will vary. OutGrow’s goal is to involve parents in order to encourage generalization of skills learned in therapy into the child’s everyday routine, which decreases the time a child may need to spend in 1:1 therapy.

  • 1-2x/week depending on services required.

  • We currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, but will be happy to provide an itemized bill for insurance submission to other insurance companies. You are also able to use a flexible spending account. It is recommended that you confirm this with your specific savings account.
